A Religious Direction to Get a Will?

I was fascinated to learn that the Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer actually discusses estate planning and the importance of making a Will. On page 445 of the Book, the minister is directed to:

Instruct the people, from time to time about the duty of Christian parents to make prudent provision for the well-being of their families.

There is also a duty of all persons to make wills, while they are in health, arranging for the disposal of their temporal goods [and] to leave bequests for religious and charitable uses.

One does not have to be an adherent of the Book of Common Prayer to believe in and follow these directions. (In the interest of full disclosure, I am Catholic). They serve as a great reminder for everyone that we are all asked to be good stewards for our families.
